Spring Skills and Scrimmage

SPRING FIELD HOCKEY for youth and adults - REGISTER HERE THROUGH COLLINS PERLEY SPORTS COMPLEX (click to register)

Two sessions run concurrently, followed by a scrimmage. The FUNdamental development program recommended for grades 1-6 and Skills clinic recommended for grades 7-12. Athletes will be grouped by ability from beginner through advanced, at the start of each session.

FUNdamental field hockey is a youth development program to expose children to the basic skills of field hockey while emphasizing fun physical activity. Suggested grades 1-6. This program will be run by Edmunds Middle School Coach Tammy Sauve who has 24 years of coaching experience Edmunds, Hunt, and Colchester middle schools.

Skills Clinics are for field players and goalies to nail the basics and build their individual skills and how to translate them into real time game play with your team. Suggested grades 7-12. This program will be run by former D1 UMass College player and Northern Vermont Field Hockey Club (www.nvtfhc.com) Coach Mel Hurlbut as well as lifelong Vermonter and former UVM D1 player, Sarah Stebbins. The goalies will have their own skills specific coach from Burlington, former UVM D1 player Brooke Hoyt.

Recreational field hockey scrimmage for anyone who is interested in getting some physical activity. The game will be pick-up style and teams will be made each night. Players of all skill levels and ages are welcome, recommending 6th grade through adult. It will be a 7v7 format, (including goalies). Two 30 minute halves (running time).

WHEN: Saturday, March 25th we will run every week through April 29th

FUN-damentals and Skills Session for youth: Saturday’s 2pm - 3:15pm with the exception of March 25th being 3pm - 4:15pm

Scrimmage games for older youth and adults played every Saturday 3:20pm - 4:30pm with the exception of March 25th being 4:20pm - 5:30pm

Players must have a mouth guard, shin guards, sneakers and a water bottle. Please let us know ahead of time if a you'll need to borrow a stick (limited availability).
