About the Event

SPRING FIELD HOCKEY for youth and adults 

Players will be grouped by ability from beginner through advanced during the first week.     FUNdamental field hockey is a youth development program to expose children to the basic skills of field hockey while emphasizing fun physical activity. This program will be run by former MVU player Caitlin Fortin who also coaches MVU Middle School.  Skills Clinics are for field players and goalies to nail the basics and build their individual skills and how to translate them into real time game play with your teammates. This program will be run by former D1 College players Mel Hurlbut and Sarah Stebbins.   Recreational field hockey scrimmages for anyone who is interested in getting some physical activity. The game will be pick-up style and teams will be made each night. Players of all skill levels are welcome. It will be a 7v7 format, (including goalie). Two 25 minutes halves (running time).

 

WHAT: Indoor Fundamental Field Hockey for developing youngsters. Skills clinics for older youth. Scrimmage style games for older youth through to adult.

 

WHERE: Highgate Arena on the indoor turf. 243 Gore Road , Highgate, VT 05459  

WHEN: Monday's and Wednesday's beginning Monday, April 4, with the last session on Wednesday, May 11th. Skills Session for youth: Monday’s or Wednesday’s 5:30-6:30pm (register for one of the other) Scrimmage games for older youth and adults played every Monday and Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm (if you have a question about if your child should participate in the scrimmage, please message us)   

HOW MUCH/ registration options: 

  • $50 per youth for Monday sessions 
  • $50 per youth for Wednesday sessions 
  • $50 per participant for Monday scrimmage 
  • $50 per participant for Wednesday scrimmage 
  • $25 per youth for Monday scrimmage (with purchase of either day’s skills session) 
  • $25 per youth for Wednesday scrimmage (with purchase of either day’s skills session)  

Players must have a face mask, mouth guard, shin guards, sneakers and a water bottle (goggles optional). Sticks available to borrow.
